Villard Le Chardonnay Casablanca Valley 2024

Paris native Thierry Villard traveled the world and settled in Chile in the mid 1980s, and established Villard Fine Wines in 1989 in Casablanca. Now the new generation has taken over the estate, led by Charlie Villard, with a continued focus on minimal intervention farming, to express the full potential of this ocean-influenced appellation. The Chardonnay is sustainably farmed, fermented in stainless steel tanks then rested in French oak barrels. 20% malolactic fermentation is allowed.

The nose is toasty-minerally at first, opening up into fresh Golden Delicious apple, peach and pineapple. Textured on the palate with a hint of vanilla and lively acidity. One of the best Southern Hemisphere Chardonnays we've tasted in a long time.
