Italo Pietrantonj Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2019

The ‘Black Label’ Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is a wine made in the traditional style. 100% Montepulciano from 30+ year old estate fruit on clay soils. The wine was fermented in stainless steel then aged eight months in large 40HL neutral Slovenian oak barrels. This is a classically-styled Montepulciano, with floral and dark fruit notes, with hints of leather and earth...very Italian. The wine has a vibrancy on the palate with full, dark-fruited flavors and pure, fresh finish.

As the 5th generation proprietors, the Pietrantonj sisters Alice and Roberta work roughly 60 hectares of estate vineyards high up rolling hills of the Apennine Mountains.
