Dom. Charles Audoin Bourgogne Rouge 2023

Domaine Charles Audoin is an estate that is responsible in large part for putting Marsannay on the map. Initially considered a less-favorable terroir and not even given its own AOC until 1987, winemakers like Charles Audoin have shown that this is an appellation that is well worthy of recognition.

All the wines undergo natural yeast fermentation. Red grapes are entirely destemmed, an evolution from previous vintages, and extractions are gentle, with an average of two weeks of maceration. The wines age for about one year in barrel, mainly used, but with some new oak depending on the cuvée, and are bottled unfined and unfiltered.
