With the cellar founded in 1761, Giacomo Borgogno e Figli is among the oldest names associated with wine in the Langhe region.
Borgogno's Freisa, like all their reds, is a dark and serious take on this lesser known Piedmont varietal. Black plum, balsamic and a rustic leathery spice. Some shy violet aromas grow more prominent after some exposure to air. Medium-bodied with a little more structure than one usually expects from Freisa. Terrific pairing with roasts and ragus.
