Rotburger is one of the original and now more culturally acceptable names for Zweigelt. It is a cross of Blaufrankisch and St.Laurent. Biodynamic, natural yeasts, large neutral barrels for aging. Grapes grown on rocky gravelly soil, from 20-40 year old vines.
Dusty cherry fruit, red apple peel, licorice, cedar chest and dried thyme on the nose. The palate brings additional notes of blueberry, black olive and birch bark. Medium bodied, satisfying throughout. Pair with grilled sausages, Swedish meatballs, roasted veggies or maybe stuffed peppers.
