Product Description

100% Gamay. Clear crimson aspect, with cranberry, redcurrant, honeycrisp apple, allspice and hibiscus on the nose. Satiny texture in the mouth, with fine grained tannin and lingering notes of sour cherry and black pepper. An elegant Cru Beaujolais, equally at home on a fine linen tablecloth or a picnic blanket. 

From vines around 40 years old and up, farmed on heavy clay soils. The farming is sustainable or lutte raisonnée. All vineyard work is by hand; the soils are worked only superficially, at most twice per year, to protect the roots of the older vines. Vinification is traditional, semi-carbonic Beaujolais style. The whole clusters are harvested by hand and fermented spontaneously with native yeasts in open-top concrete tank. The wine is aged in large, old oak foudres for about 9 months before bottling with minimal sulfur addition.
