From the far Northwestern corner of the Burgundy region, just a stone's throw to the west of Chablis, with whom it shares a similar terroir, this lovely pinot noir gives a vibrant bouquet of pomegranate, cranberry, clove, tobacco and vanilla. Silky on the palate, with ripe, fleshy fruit courtesy of an outstanding vintage, and zippy acidity to carry that fruit through an impressively long and clean finish.
The Irancy appellation was created in 1999, specifically for red wines made from Pinot Noir, with a permitted addition of 10% Cesar.
