A great find! Lovely traditional Chianti, naturally made, at a nice price. Dried red cherries and leather on the nose, and a hint of clove. Good weight and structure on the palate - with a serious quality unexpected in a wine at this price.
Sangiovese 90%, Malvasia Nera 10% from young vines planted on chalk and sandstone. Organic viticulture, manual harvest, fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Aged for 12 months in cement tanks and further 6 months in bottle before release. Bottled with no filtration.
