A selection of 60% Fernão Pires and 40% Arinto grapes grown in the ‘Vinha da Gafa,’ a vineyard with southeastern exposure and clay-limestone soils. Hand harvested in August, and completely destemmed. Varieties are fermented separately with native yeasts in stainless steel for 15 days. Aged on lees in stainless steel for 12 months.

A bit of lees contact gives the wine a light golden sheen. Quite leesy and a touch smoky on the nose, with concentrated pear and pineapple fruit. Nice fleshy texture on the entry but with a bracing salinity. Terrific acidity which keeps the wine lively and fresh. so delicious!
