Stone fruit, citrus, bee pollen & orange blossom honey on the nose. Creamy entry in the mouth, with pops of green peppercorn and lime leaf, and a bit of a nutty quality on finish. Complex enough to enjoy neat, but at 46% abv. also assertive enough to shine through in cocktails. A terrific value for a genuinely artisanal mezcal.
100% Agave Espadin, roasted for 5-7 days in pit oven over Encino/White Pine. Tahona crushed, naturally fermented in open top pine vats for 4-6 days. Double distilled on 275L copper alembic still.
Oscar Morales is the fourth generation of the Morales family to produce mezcal in the town of San Dionisio Ocotepec, using the land, the techniques, and the equipment of his father Lucio, for whom this expression is named.
